Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons raspberry vinegar
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons raspberry jam
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 8 cups spinach, rinsed and torn into bite-size pieces
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 8 strawberries, quartered
  • 2 kiwis, peeled and sliced

Directions

  1. Mix together raspberry vinegar, raspberry jam, and vegetable oil in a small container.
  2. Combine spinach, nuts, strawberries, and kiwi in a salad bowl. Toss with raspberry dressing.

Try this Simple Ginger Cookie Recipe! Ginger is a natural ingredient that has moisturizing properties that help brighten your skin. Ginger is found in many of our Equitance products like our Brightening Foaming Cleanser!

Ginger Cookie

Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoon coconut flour
  • 2 Tablespoon applesauce or mashed banana
  • stevia or other sweetener, to taste (I use 1-2 packets)
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon ginger powder
  • pinch salt
  • 1 Tablespoon almond milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon molasses

Directions
Preheat oven to 350F.

In a small bowl, mix coconut flour, baking powder, ginger, cinnamon, and salt. Add in applesauce or mashed banana and stir. Add in almond milk and molasses and stir until fully incorporated. Drop dough by tablespoon or teaspoon, depending on how big you want them, on a parchment lined baking sheet. I used a silicone mat. Flatten the dough into cookie shapes and bake in the oven at 350F for 10 minutes.

Paleo Pecan Pie Bars

Paleo Pecan Pie Bars

For the crust
1 3/4 cups blanched almond flour
1 egg
1 tablespoon coconut oil
1/2 teaspoon arrowroot powder
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon sea salt

For the filling
10 pitted dates
2 eggs
1/4 cup maple syrup
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chopped pecans

Directions
Preheat the oven to 350°F. In a food processor, combine the almond flour, egg, coconut oil, arrowroot powder, and sea salt. Pulse until the dough forms a ball. Line a 10x15-inch glass casserole dish with parchment paper, press the dough evenly the dish, and bake it for 15 minutes. Meanwhile, make the filling by adding the dates, eggs, maple syrup, and vanilla extract to the food processor. Process on high until the filling is smooth. Pour the filling mixture over the partially baked crust. Sprinkle the pecans evenly over the top, and bake the bars for another 25 to 30 minutes.

A simple and delicious strawberry kiwi smoothie with orange, banana and honey. Rich in vitamins C and D, this healthy smoothie is a natural cold remedy too!

YIELD: 1 smoothie
TOTAL TIME: 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 small ripe kiwis, peeled and quartered
  • 1/2 cup frozen strawberry halves
  • 1/2 medium orange, peel and pith removed
  • 1/2 banana, sliced and frozen
  • 1/2 cup Almond milk
  • 1 tablespoon rolled or quick-cooking oats
  • Small handful ice, (optional - for a thicker smoothie)
  • 1-2 teaspoons honey, optional

Directions
Place all of the ingredients in a blender: kiwis, strawberries, orange, milk, oats, and ice. Blend until smooth. Add 1-2 teaspoons of honey (to taste) for added sweetness. Drink to your health - immediately.

Asian Pear, Spinach and Pomegranate Salad

This Super Green Salad is a quick 20-minute recipe, featuring healthy spinach and the antioxidant powers of pomegranate, as well as the phytonutrients found in pears and more.

Ingredients

  • Salad
  • 1/3 cup chopped walnuts or pecans, toasted
  • 1/2 cup pomegranate arils
  • 1 oz feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1/4 cup dried cranberries
  • 1 Asian pear (firm but ripe), cored and sliced
  • 4 oz baby spinach
  • Dressing
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 3 Tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp dijon mustard
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Directions
Whisk all dressing ingredients in a bowl to blend well. Place all salad ingredients in a large salad bowl, drizzle with desired amount of dressing then toss to evenly coat. Serve immediately.

Salmon with Red Berry Sauce

Salmon with Red Berry Sauce

Omega-3 Fatty Acids found in Salmon helps to control oil production and keep skin strong and smooth. Berries are rich in Vitamin C and Antioxidants, which fights free radical damage from the environment.

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces Fresh Mixed Berries
  • (Blackberries, Blueberries & Raspberries)
  • 2 tablespoons Red Wine
  • 2 tablespoons Dark Brown Sugar
  • 2 Salmon filets (7 ounces each)
  • Salt and Black Pepper to taste

Directions

  1. Preheat the broiler, and set aside 1/4 cup of fresh berries.
  2. In a small saucepan, simmer remaining berries and wine, stirring and crushing berries until juicy about 5 minutes.
  3. Strain and discard pulp and seeds. Simmer juice and dark brown sugar until syrupy and reduced to 1/3 to 1/ 2 cup.
  4. Season Salmon with salt and pepper and place on a baking sheet coated with cooking spray.
  5. Broil Salmon for 10 to 12 minutes (nearly cooked through). Brush top of filets with 1 tablespoon of the berry syrup and cook a couple more minutes.
  6. Add 1/4 cup of berries to the berry sauce and reheat briefly.
  7. Serve Salmon with warm berry sauce!

  • 7 tablespoons of your favorite store bought poppy seed dressing
  • 20 toasted walnut halves

Directions:

  1. In a large salad bowl, combine greens, grapes, oranges, pineapple and grapefruit, tossing occasionally.
  2. Drizzle with 7 tablespoons of dressing, or to your liking, top each serving with walnuts.

 

Black Soy Bean Burgers

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup vegetable broth
  • 1 cup firm tofu
  • 1/4 cup cooked black soybeans, divided into two OR 2 1/8 cups cooked black soybeans
  • 1/4 cup chopped Spanish onion
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons corn meal
  • 1 packet (1 1/4 ounces) low-sodium taco seasoning mix
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons avocado oil

Directions:

  1. In a medium sauce pan, heat vegetable broth on high heat to just boiling. Add in tofu and let stand 3 minutes, then drain.
  2. In medium bowl, mash half the beans with a fork. Add remaining beans, onion, flour, corn meal and taco seasoning until thoroughly mixed to create a thick consistency.
  3. Add eggs and tofu, mix well. Form into 4 circular patties.
  4. In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat until it starts to brown. Add patties and cook until firmed and browned on one side, about 5 minutes. Turn and brown second side. Before serving, use a tooth pick to test if cooked all the way through.
  5. Serve your black soybean burgers on any bun of your choosing, we recommend a toasted lite English muffin, and with your favorite veggie burger toppings.

  • 3/4 cup canned mandarin orange sections, drained
  • 3/4 cup fresh red raspberries
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 1/2 cup fresh mint leaves
  • 1 bottle champagne

Directions:

  1. In a large pitcher or glass jar, combine grape juice, Grand Marnier, sugar, and honey, stirring until sugar and honey dissolve. Stir in nectarine, orange, raspberries, basil, and mint. Chill mixture for 1 hour or up to 24 hours, stirring occasionally.
  2. Just before serving, add champagne and serve in glasses over ice.
  3. For a non-alcoholic version, use orange juice rather than Grand Marnier and grape flavored sparkling water instead of champagne.

Ingredients:

  • 2 or 3 medium sized yucca roots
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • ½ tsp fresh ground pepper
  • 1 tsp extra virgin olive oil
  • Non-stick cooking spray

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees.
  2. Peel yucca with vegetable peeler, removing all of the waxy brown skin and pinkish layer underneath, and then slice into thin rounds with a mandolin.
  3. In a stock pot, bring water to a boil. Place yucca slices in the water. Checking occasionally with a fork, cook until tender. When tender, drain with a colander.
  4. After draining, place the slices on a lightly oiled cooking sheet and drizzle with olive oil, along with sea salt and freshly ground pepper.
  5. Cover with tin foil and place into the middle rack of the oven for 15 minutes, occasionally turning.
  6. Remove the foil and continue baking the yucca chips for 10 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy.

Guacamole

  • Yields 3 servings
  • Serving size: 1 cup
  • Prep time: 45 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 3 Hass avocados, halved, seeded and scooped
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 medium red onion, diced
  • 1/2 jalapeño pepper, seeded and minced
  • 2 Roma tomatoes, seeded and diced
  • 1 tablespoon chopped cilantro
  • 1 clove garlic, minced

Directions:

  1. In a large bowl or molcajete, place the scooped avocados and add in the lime juice, tossing to coat the avocado.
  2. Add in onions, jalapeño, tomatoes, cilantro, salt, cumin, garlic, and cayenne. With either a potato masher or pestle, slowly smash into a coarse paste.
  3. Once tossed all together, taste and add salt, as needed.
  4. Leave at room temperature for 30 minutes and serve with yucca chips.

Pico De Gallo

  • Yields 4 servings
  • Serving size: About ½ cup
  • Prep time: 20 minutes.

Ingredients:

  • 1 medium tomato, diced
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 fresh jalapeño pepper, seeded and chopped
  • 2 sprigs fresh cilantro, finely chopped
  • 1 green onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper

Directions:

  1. In a medium bowl, combine tomato, onion, jalapeño pepper (to taste,) cilantro and green onion.
  2. Season with garlic powder, salt and pepper. Stir until evenly distributed.
  3. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
